Jacket & Suit Alterations
Design & Alter is well known for its experience and excellence in all formal alterations. Our jacket tailors are professionals who are skilled to maintain and reapply the finish of the original making the alteration unnoticeable. This might not be important for all garments but most definitely for designer and high quality clothes. We are very conscious about the finish of the alteration – whether it is the colour, the quality of thread, the type of stitching or any added details; original bindings will be reapplied and accessorises matched with the best possible outcome for our clients in mind.
One of the most common jacket alterations are shortening sleeves which can be done in two different ways. Shortening a sleeve from the cuff is a straight forward process but should your jacket hold more detailing we recommend to shorten sleeves from the shoulder of a garment. This helps preserving the proportions, detailing like buckles, working button holes and overall integrity of the original design. It takes slightly longer, is more expensive but a very professional way of sleeve alteration.
